How to Create a Catchy Profile on a Dating Site

One of the hardest tasks to do while dating online is creating a catchy profile on a dating site.  You want to be noticed but you cannot blantantly lie about who you are because one way or another you will get caught in your lies when dating.  Therefore, if you were thinking about putting up a picture of Megan Fox on the site and telling the world that you are a millionaire who loves adventure you may want to re – think those facts (or lies, rather.)

Are you trying too hard?

Have you ever come across a dating site profile page that seems too good to be true which makes you skip over it? Is that your profile page? Everyone on a dating site has to show humanity and flavor in order to even be recognized. However, if you go on and on about why you are such a great catch most people will think that there is something wrong with you because you have all of these great things going on for you but you can’t find a date. This is a common mistake that most first time online daters make while using dating sites.

You do not have to be intimidated by the online dating world. There are a lot of opportunities out there that you can take advantage of. However, you have to know how to taking advantage of dating online using a site. You are a great person and you can tell your online readers that on your profile but you have to limit yourself. If you lay out your whole life in your profile, there really isn’t too much to talk about on your first date, now is there?

When you write your online profile, it should be short and it should give the reader an idea of who you are and what you like without revealing your life’s story. Once you have accomplished writing a great profile for your dating site then you need to move onto your actual first date. Just like in your profile, you can become overly excited to make a great first impression which can turn off many people. Some people think that your actions might be complete false and forced (and some may be) and others may just think that you are odd.

You should always date with grace and respect but if you really aren’t Prince Charming then don’t be too hard on yourself if your date makes it to the door before you do and opens it. Just by showing small acts of kindness throughout the date, your date will know that you are being a gentleman or lady. When you talk about yourself don’t be overly talkative as you might come off as arrogant. Try to be as relaxed as possible. The more that you act like yourself, the more confident you will feel on your date to actually be yourself.

Making your profile

Dating sites are meant for people who are seriously into dating and looking for people who share their interests and needs.  Not every site offers the same services so if you are interest in specialty dating or interest dating, then you should look for a dating site that offers your interest only such as Christian dating, homosexual dating, Jewish Dating, interracial dating and so forth.

Once you sign up, it is time to make that catchy profile.  Remember start with the truth, but do not be too critical of yourself. You don’t need to share that you are amomaxiaphobic  What do you like to do?  What makes you an attractive person?  Don’t lie, but express yourself in a better manner than “Hey Guys, I love to hang out, watch TV and eat cake.”  Try saying that you love going to the movies, going to concerts and anything else you actually do with your friends.  Name some of your favorite TV shows but don’t list all 30 that you watch.  4 or 5 of your favorite shows should suffice.  Say you have a sweet tooth and enjoy fine dining with the right special someone.

All of these examples will help catch the eye of someone special on your dating site.   The way you express yourself will tell the person reading whether you are interesting or a dating loser.  Have a friend check out what you wrote to see what they feel about it.  It may even be better that your friend writes your profile for you since they will be able to say all of the things that they believe are fun and exciting about you, that you may neglect or may not think anything of.

Lastly, you need a photo. This should be a fun photo that shows potential dating site daters that you are ready to date and that you are a fun person.  Let your glowing eyes pop out or your smile light up their life.  If you do all of these things, you can rest assure that you have made a catchy profile for your dating site.
