Site Overview:
Chemistry.com is unique in its approach than most other generic dating sites. Dr Helen Fisher is the mastermind behind the Personality Profile and also provides dating advice, articles and informational videos for users to access within the site. This site works by creating a Personality Profile for each user and then assigning them a personality type. For example, users could fall into a class type of Negotiator or Director. The registration can be a lengthy process. Along with the usual tick box questions, there are questions on subjects such as perception, emotions, and a slider scale for you to indicate how important certain characteristics are in a partner (for example, education level, smoking, children, etc). Profiles can even be transferred directly from Match.com, but the personality test will still need to be completed. The personal essay is mandatory and must be at least 200 characters in length. User photos are optional and once registration is complete, users will be sent 5 free matches on a daily basis. The matches are based on their personality type answers, as well as other responses. Notification alerts are also sent by e-mail to the user when someone is interested. At this point, only paid members will then be able to take part in the guided “1-2-3 Meet” process, which consists of discovering what qualities are important to one other by asking each other short questions and then proceeding directly to email contact.
